    Bottom Drain on AGP?

I have a bottom drain as well. I didn't ask for it but was told that all installs by the installer I used includes a bottom drain. As frustratedpoolmom mentioned, the main reason that I like it is I don't have to vacuum very often. I think I may have vacuumed twice last year and the pool got...

    bugs

This year seems to be worse than last as far as bugs. I haven't had as many backswimmers and boatmen this year but have seen the water beetle and a few water scorpions. Last year I didn't have those at all. I keep a skimmer net handy and squish 'em if I can catch em. Most of the water...

    LaMotte ColorQ Water Tester

After reading all this, I'm sure glad that I made the correct choice on Father's Day. My wife said I could have the Color Q or the TF-100. I came close to getting the Color Q. I just didn't find enough good comments here like you do about the TF-100.

    Help with Bug problem

Only problem with flinging them, they can come right back. They fly. Squash 'em and that one won't be back.

    Help with Bug problem

I'll be skimming them out for now as my JRT loves the pool and she does drink some of the water. I've read that the addition of Borates at the level they would be needed is just at the threshold for making a pet sick. If she didn't love the pool so much I would definitely consider it though.

    Help with Bug problem

Chlorine doesn't hurt them because they don't breathe in the water like fish would. They are swimming in it just like you. We had some water beetles; not like the one you pictured, but probably some of it's kinfolk. After making sure that my water was balanced and never letting it go...

    Wrong test kit?

From what I've read that's a good test kit but you are limited by not being able to test for chlorine above 5ppm. You can probably make do with that one for the time being but I would plan on getting the TF100. In my opinion it is much better.

Do we need a pad under steps in AG?

Any thoughts on the size? Just the size of the ladder or steps footprint? For a ladder, maybe something like 12" X 30" or is that too big?

Flying Red ants and biting water bugs!!!!Help

We have the flying ants too and the occasional backswimmer. I try to scoop the ants out as soon as I see them and without something to eat the backswimmer will eventually go away. If he don't, I'll catch him too! :hammer:

    Hey there!!

Welcome Donna. I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same way when I found TFP last year.

WalMart Ultra Bleach - $2.54 now

$2.54 here too and it seems every time I go in there's only 1 jug left on the shelf. I guess there are lots of folks finding TFP and going the BBB route. :-D

Need a GlowBuoy by Thur. July 3 in zip 85202

I recently purchased a GlowBuoy off Ebay and the item was shipped from In The Swim. It was new in the box and was defective. I called the 800 number, they faxed me a return FedEx label and shipped out a new one the same day the defective one arrived. The replacement is due to arrive tomorrow...
