    intex cs8110 swg

Mine is out of warranty and the transformer went out- as I determined by poking around inside. I also did a temporary "work around" using a spare car battery and battery charger to bypass the controls because I determined that I would have more success finding nuclear launch codes than intex...

    Intex Ultra Frame Owners

Winters here in SC are mild by comparison to some. Having said that... I have a summer escapes 18' x 52" that is going to be left up for the 4th winter. I just drain enough water to drop below the skimmer and I store the pump and sand filter in the barn through the winter. I don't cover- but I...

INTEX 14" Krystal Klear Sand Filter Pump Make Noise

Great tutorial! Good tip about rotating the pump to get the bottom bolts/nuts in, those are buggers. I used tape folded double on the end of a screwdriver to hold the nuts in place when installing those bottom 2. I noted that if I ever do this again I would tape those nuts in place before...

INTEX 14" Krystal Klear Sand Filter Pump Make Noise

X10. I used an 18V impact driver with very light trigger pull for slow hammer. I just posted about this fix but w/out pics. Thanks for the pics. I actually found a bearing from Fastenal that had a rubber outer seal. My shaft wasn't rusted like yours- I had cage failure. Only one bearing was...

    SUCCESS!! Replaced INTEX motor bearings!!

Sorry for no pics guys. Anyone that's even a little mechanically inclined can do this fix. Just proceed slowly and don't knock your screws/nuts off the workbench 4 times. :grrrr:

    SUCCESS!! Replaced INTEX motor bearings!!

Hi All. My 2nd season old INTEX 1650gph sand filter motor became sooooooooo noisy we were turning it off when in the pool due to the noise. I mean dump truck with bricks rattling around in the back kind of noisy! We came back from vacation and literally- I could hear it from the driveway. I...

Pool sinking- Ever try partial paver blocks?

Thanks Samantha and Big-kid for your insight and opinions. :goodjob: No, hindsight is,...well you know. I let the warm weather get the better of me. :hammer: I've got a week off coming up, so I 'm sure I can do something. Again, thanks both of you and thanks TFP for a great resource! I...

Pool sinking- Ever try partial paver blocks?

The plastic feet have given up on my summer escapes 18x48. Most of the legs have broken through the feet and have begun to sink. I was off level by 6 inches after receiving several inches of rain in a short period. I jacked up the legs one at a time with a floor jack and 2x4 (as I saw on a post...

Summer Escapes Pro Series 13"x22" rectangular questions

I'm scared of the drain plug, it is a bit low for my comfort. I was eyeballing an area just below the "band" that contains the legs, which would put it about 12" to 18" from the bottom. I agree with the center drain- would make life sooooo easy. :goodjob: I have to replace the summer escapes...

Summer Escapes Pro Series 13"x22" rectangular questions

Jamison04- I have the same setup you have (minus the SWG). This is my first year with this pool and the skimmer works GREAT at keeping floating debris out of the pool. I have begun to see small debris floating near the bottom of the pool while we're swimming and I'm considering adding an outlet...

Question for those with in wall skimmers . .even mods

When it's running do you have a vortex forming in the skimmer? I did, and it was causing the problem you describe. I made a "vortex breaker" by placing a short piece( 6") of 1" PVC pipe into the skimmer on an angle that prevents the vortex from forming and introducing air into the system.
