Where are the old "pool sweeps" that float the surface???

Re: Where are the old "pool sweeps" that float the surface?? Thank you, but I don't see how this would do any better than my skimmers (as long as I don't let them get clogged up). Furthermore, my returns are on the bottom of my pool (concrete with fiberglass mat resurfacing). I'd still like...

Where are the old "pool sweeps" that float the surface???

Re: Where are the old "pool sweeps" that float the surface?? Yes, I realize that now. But all these pricey floor robots do nothing for all the debris floating on the surface. Would be nice to collect the bugs, dust, etc. BEFORE it sinks to the bottom.

Where are the old "pool sweeps" that float the surface???

20 years ago I had a pool sweep, hooked up to a return, that floated the surface of the pool, had 2 or 3 flexible legs that swished back and forth on the bottom and sides of the pool, stirring up any debris. It left the skimmers working, and the main drains, so they could suck up debris. I...

Fiberglass inside an old gunite pool

The first one is in CA, the second in TX. But good information. I've found 2 companies that do fiberglass renovation on the mid-Atlantic area (including Virginia, where I live). Since you're in MD, I wonder if you, or other members, know anything about either of these companies. I've left...

Fiberglass inside an old gunite pool

Jason, do you have any leads for me to find websites using the fiberglass lining you're referring to? Or search words? I'm thinking a fiberglass mesh fabric would add strength, but would like to use something that I could put 2 coats of a good high-build epoxy over. Thanks!

Fiberglass inside an old gunite pool

What type of fiberglass cloth would you use??? Would you put it down on the first coat of wet epoxy, then paint second coat over that? I have a brand new poured concrete pool that has never held water since it was built last August. Earthquake hit, but also are some structural...

Need advice on resurfacing options, new concrete pool

I've looked into that method but my concrete man doesn't feel the cracks are really structural. Both floor and walls are tied together with a lot of rebar. The botton cracks are hairline so should be OK with a one-piece strong, flexible coating process. The joints DID leak, at least in one...

Need advice on resurfacing options, new concrete pool

Would you be willing to talk via phone, or private e-mail? I haven't been able to connect via phone with EcoSmart yet, so still have specific questions. Like, is one coat REALLY enough? Should it be painted for added strength? Is it their "trowel mix" that I'd use for caulking the joints...

Need advice on resurfacing options, new concrete pool

My new poured concrete pool has become a nightmare, has never held water! Unfortunately, it was built, but sitting empty, when the earthquake hit us in Virginia last August. We fixed the obvious crack, then filled the pool; next morning it was down 5". Thought it was the light housing, fixed...
