I ended up completely draining the pool. taking apart filter and cleaning it. I also cleaned out all the pipes. I then sprayed pool with bleach and washed off. I scraped the black algae and hope that I got is all. Refilled pool and it looks good. Will wait till spring to tackle salt system.

I just installed a Hayward Salt system, and I noticed that the manual says the first display when pressing the diagnostics button that it is supposed to be the water temperature . I did not see a probe for this, is it in the cell? I can't seem to find any literature on it.
