Hello new to the forum, I found it by doing research on adding a skimmer to my Coleman (Bestway) Power steel 16 ft round. It is on its second year of service and trying to make it a better pool by adding the skimmer and eventually a sand filter.

I just cut apart my gasket. There is flash on the halves of the gasket that were joined. Do I have to try and trim that so each side of the gasket is perfectly flat ? Or will it be okay as long as the flat sides of each gasket is facing the liner of the pool ? Thanks
