Do I need to continue to test and maintain FC levels all winter...once the water maintains a temp below 60 that is?? Right now I'm prob averaging adding around 8-10oz of bleach per day with water temps bouncing between 55-62 degrees. I'm not covering and will keep my pump running on low 24/7...

That sounds like an interesting device...I would probably be to paranoid that it wouldn't turn on ?

Remember, put your CYA in a sock and dangle it in front of the return jet and give 'er a squeeze every now and then. It can take it a week or so before it fully mixes into your water so don't test it until then. But once the sock is empty you should assume its at the level you want and adjust...

+1 on Caseys point about the "shock". I would only use bleach for the FC and straight CYA powder put into a sock and hung over your return jet. Squeeze it a few times throughout the day and let it do its thing. Just remember, it can take about a week for the CYA to fully dissolve and register in...
