    Pump wiring

Just installed a new pump. Pentair SuperFlo 2 speed. The pump is running but only at one speed. From what I saw on the wiring diagram it said to connect the ground, red to 1 and black to 2. There is another wire capped off from the switch. Am I supposed to include that in the wiring or connect...

Model type for energy efficient pump

I need a new pump because the current one broke (see above). I tried cutting down on my run time at 30 min increments and have gotten it as low as it will go without compromising clean water. I live in hot Florida sun and have no kind of pool cover or screen and lots of trees in my my yard and...

Model type for energy efficient pump

I'm definitely not going to be able to afford a new filter and a new pump. I don't mind cleaning the filter a little more often, but I will look into replacing next year maybe. So, if I keep the same filter system, what do I need to look for in a pump? Can I still go with the 1HP 2-speed? Will...

Model type for energy efficient pump

I need a new pump because a clamp on the pump broke and it would cost $60 to replace (plus shipping). I would prefer to invest the money in a more efficent pump than fix this one. If you want a good chuckle, check out our redneck repair to keep the water circulating...

Model type for energy efficient pump

Ok, it's a Sta Rite PosiFlo. It says filter area 102 sq ft, resid. flow rate 100 GPM, public pool flow rate 37.5 GPM

    Pump timer

Cost is a major concern for me now, so I think that I will just manually switch from high to low as needed. My only concern is that it sounds like some pumps won't start up on low? But even if that's the case, I can still work around it.

Model type for energy efficient pump

Ok, so maybe I did some guessing on some of the numbers in my signature...? You guys did steer me towards the SuperFlo in another post, but I also saw that name pop up on several other threads and it ranked pretty well on some of those "most efficient 2 speed pumps" posts. I was also thinking...

Model type for energy efficient pump

Thanks! All the numbers start to get jumbled together. I'm willing to spend a little more money up front to hopefully save money in the future, would it be wise to revise my search and look for an "energy efficient" model of some other type of 2 speed?

Model type for energy efficient pump

I'm looking at getting a 1 HP, 2-speed Pentair SuperFlo. Is there an "energy efficient" model and a regular model? If so, could someone just tell me the model number (or some other way to identify it in a google search) of the energy efficient model? Thanks! Sara
