Leveling clay soil with a small soft spot for intex 12x24 xtr pool

Thank you! I've considered all the different layerings/bases - I initially was hoping to just put a tarp then foam boards but then I got all of these tire tracks. I've read that the gorilla/rhino pad dont provide that much comfort and you still need sand - just overpriced weed barrier felt. So...

Leveling clay soil with a small soft spot for intex 12x24 xtr pool

I had somebody out and they maybe stopped a little early - they mentioned fear of getting the equipment stuck. There is a small soft spot. picture How can I finish this off without too much additional work? There are treads from the equipment in the site. I was thinking maybe I can get away...

Should i upgrade 12” pump on 12x24 intex

Thank you for the great advice! Honestly I can see myself just swapping out intex stuff, and might consider inground but that would be waay far out in the future. I am a scavenger - i try to find well kept used equipment for cheap.

Thank you greatly for this information! Especially the rule of thumb at the bottom. Maybe we can add a link for this thread to Useful links for fellow Intex Pool Owners

Should i upgrade 12” pump on 12x24 intex

Thank you for the reply- it has the 14” but I’ve read this seasons model only includes the 12 - so crazy!!! I’m torn regarding the combo vs individual- I like the idea of only one power cable. But if I had individual components then I could hook a pump to a smart plug - as unfortunately the...

Should i upgrade 12” pump on 12x24 intex

The sand filter pump is rated for up to 8500 gallons which is the size of the pool. Is it worth changing out? I plan to add the Intex deluxe skimmer, plug the other outlet per the skimmer instructions and have the positive Intex auto cleaner vacuum as well in addition to the larger size Intex...

Anyway I can get by with 1/2" polystyrene insulation board + tarp as base

Thank you for the honest answer. Maybe I'll grab the 1" eps then top it off with the harbor freight mats? I should be good about the edges since per my calculation 9 boards will cover 12x24 area.

Anyway I can get by with 1/2" polystyrene insulation board + tarp as base

Oh - the stuff listed in my signature I won't be using for this pool - I think the pump burned out from leaving it outside. I will try to take a look at it before calling it a dud. Thanks for the protection tips.

    Yep - still expensive. That's $0.90/sqft.

Anyway I can get by with 1/2" polystyrene insulation board + tarp as base

Unfortunately I don't have a truck - the local dirt will deliver for $180 order. Then I still have to move the sand to the spot. I plan to keep the pool up until it breaks.

Yeah my online price is showing $29 for only 1" xps rigid. There's some listings on facebook that have 1.5" for $25 but it isnt xps but polystyrene.
