Thanks for the quick replies! I have Hayward omnilogic which doesn't have low salt light, However in diagnostics the instant salt reading is 0. My guess is the actual number is prob around 2000ppm based on last year's number and what I drained and refilled. Will get it checked by the pool...

unfortunately for my setup the salt cell and heater requires at least 30-35gpm to operate... i find for my system the lowest RPMs that works out to is around 1600, any lower and no heat/salt cell.

higher flow rates when i run 3 sheer descents (3 ft each)... otherwise doesnt work. usually have the pump running at 1700 rpm though, avging around 40 gpm as yours.

thanks bmoreswim, i was just coming over to ask that same question... jasonlion, will a 2nd skimmer alleviate some of the flow concerns (but keeping all piping at 2")? so now 2x2" pipes coming from skimmer, 4x1.5" returns and 1x2" pipe for sheer 3x3ft sheers?

the runs are approx 80' long. would it be beneficial to upgrade the sheer descent and skimmer pipes to 2.5 or even 3" pipes? is there any downside to doing that (assuming all return pipes stay at 1.5")? using ecostar variable speed pump, so should be able to dial the power as needed
