Bought a stronger muriatic acid (31.45%) and the pH is currently 7.2. Added bleach this morning and CL is 1.5 (which the test I'm using says is ideal). Do I work on lowering TA now through aeration? My kids are very good at aerating the pool through splashing and would be happy to help with...

Thank you both for your help. I added muriatic acid tonight to lower pH. Will retest on the morning. I run the swg/ filter for 6 hours a day, I don't know about a level to be honest!? I'll look into it. Sorry for short reply... using Tapatalk 2 from cell phone :)

Thought I'd share a few pics of our little pool & the deck (mini-deck? landing?) Next year we plan to deck over the existing patio and have a much bigger area around the pool. My husband insisted the entire landing could not be level with the top frame of the pool b/c the deck blocks he used...

Well, that didn't work unfortunately. Huge black cloud of dirt? sand? something gross right back into the water after vacuuming, backwash, rinse. On hold with Intex. Ok so Intex suggested instead of backwash/rinse, hooking up a tube to waste pump on the back of the sand filter after...

OK, dumb question...after using the Intex vacuum with hose attached to the sand filter, the pool is very clean. Then when I turn the filter back on a big cloud of dark dust/dirt/whatever is pushed back into the pool. I know I'm missing something here...do I need to backwash the filter? oh...
