    SWG Salt reading spike

Hi, I've been running AquaPure 1400 for about 8 months w/o any issues w/ salt levels reading between 3300 & 3600 ppm... Tonight I logged in to adjust something and noticed that my swg is now reading 4500ppm... Any idea what would cause the sudden spike? Thanks!

    confused by test results

I guess the CYA loss is still a mystery then since I still see 0 CC... I'm in day of 2 of the slam and am still losing chlorine pretty fast, whatever 'bug' is eating up better stop soon :)

    confused by test results

So I did the overnight chlorine loss test and sure enough, I lost the entire gallon... went from 3.5 down to .5... guess it's time to shock... one part I don't understand is what happened to my cya... the pool was filled in Dec. at that time about 15lbs of CYA was added, cya was reading around...

    confused by test results

Hi, I've a 27k gal pool w/ swg. It was maintained by pb for first 2 mo. the chemo levels seemed to be ok. I used the tf100 test kit. Now that the pb is no longer maintaining the pool, I measured Fc for the first time since the salt was added & got the following results: FC 0.5 CC 0 CYA 20 TA...

    AquaPure 1400 runtime adjustements...

Thanks for the reply... a couple of follow up questions... What does chlorine usage have to do w/ water being warmer? I know UV impact chlorine decentigration, but what does temp have to do w/ that? How did you calculate the .57 ppm number? Thanks!

    AquaPure 1400 runtime adjustements...

Hi, We finally put salt into our recently completed 27K gal IG... The pool is controlled via Aqualink RS8 and has Aquapure 1400 SWG. The SWG is set to run @ 25%. Based on my understanding, that means the SWG is on 25% of the pump runtime. So, in my case, with the pump running for 10hrs/day, the...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

EllieWilliams, Thanks for the recommendations! Love the look of the plants, just checked, and it looks like that "Tangerine Beaty" only goes up to zone 9, I'm in 10a, not sure it'd be happy, but I'll ask my local nursery... The "Barbados Pride" looks great and would grow in zone 10a, but...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

From what I read, the entire tree is poisonous if ingested, the seeds, do however, have a much higher concentration of the toxin. I like the way the look, just not enough to risk my dogs getting hurt, or even a vet visit (one my dogs snorted a bee last year, can't imagine eating some palm would...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

I do have 2 Weimaraners that love to get in trouble, so gotta pass on Sago... Looks like I'll be looking at Pygmy Dates, and possibly "Bolivian Mountain Coconut Palms (Parajubaea Torallyi)" though it might be too big for what I want or, if I can make it work "SUGAR CANE PALM TREE (Dypsis...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

Unfortunately, you can't grow just about anything in Simi, especially in my yard :) The soil is VERY hard and doesn't drain well, I've augmented the top 2-3 feet, but once you go past that, it's just clay, and a lot of time, the water from sprinklers just stands there, rotting the roots...
