    TFP is awesome!

This is our third summer with the pool and I can't say enough good things about TFP! For those of you on the fence about trying the TFP method, it is soooo worth it! Yesterday we took the cover off and had CLEAR WATER for the third straight summer, and almost perfectly balanced. Thought I'd...

    Taylor 9056 Test Block

Found the R-0001 & 0002. Just did the FC test and boy are those reds hard to distinguish--I suppose it will get easier the more I use it. It read somewhere between the 7.5 and 10 ppm. Then I did the FAS-DPD just to see how close they'd be, and that read 9 ppm FC, so not too bad. I know...

    Taylor 9056 Test Block

Hello all! I ordered the Taylor 9056 which tests chlorine up to 10 ppm, and having trouble finding directions on how to use it. I was surprised when it arrived it came with no directions. Can anyone help me out with this? I've searched this site and haven't found much about it...maybe it's...

Want to close pool, but water not cold enough

We would like to totally close this weekend. No need to blow out lines according to our PB, they use flexible pipe and it's embedded in the concrete footer around pool, so at least we can save that step. I think I will skip the polyquat and make sure to open early enough in the spring. I see...

Want to close pool, but water not cold enough

Hi all, I really need to get pool closed this weekend, the tree dirt is just too much to bear any longer and the wind doesn't want to stop:mad: Water temp is 63, do you think I will be safe if I add Polyquat 60? Test readings this afternoon were: CYA 80 Cl 7 ppm TA 60 pH 7.4 thanks for any...

    Lowering FC

Thanks....didn't know it was okay to run pump that short of time on account of keeping the dirt filtered out and all, we have a lot of trees around. Do you do the 8 hours during the day or at night, or doesn't it matter? Thought I read somewhere that daytime is better.

    Lowering FC

This is the first summer with our pool. Last couple days water testing have been very consistent....haven't even had to add acid to lower the pH. pH 7.5 FC 11 CC 0 TA 70 CH 300 CYA 80 My question is about how to lower the FC. I know it's safe to swim and all but it really doesn't need to be...

    Test Results

Pwrstrk--Great visual of sock/cya, thanks! I was trying to decide how I would do that..... Casey--Right now it's stored in our garage. We have a cool dark basement...will that help it to last longer? Who knows when I'll actually need it. I got it at Costco, guess I could return it.... hmmmm.
