Shaft turns smoothly. Impeller turns. Hi/Lo switch resistance in on-state (not powered up) 3 ohms (either direction). Everything looks normal.

Thanks for the quick reply. The motor's only 20 months old. I replaced a single speed pump that had worked flawlessly for 20 years with the 2 speed Pentair in February 2011. I figure it shouldn't be worn out by now and it's probably something else.

Yesterday I noticed my Pentair Superflo 1.5HP (dual speed) had stopped. It had tripped the cirtcuit breaker, which I reset, but it still wouldn't work. I checked for supply voltage to the pump (220v) - it is getting the supply. I replaced the capacitor. That also didn't fix the problem. Is there...
