    circupool RJ45 goes Kaboom !

Thanks for the input. I think you are right about the control box being possibly damaged, that it is best to start new. I thought I'd have a few months to decide but with the cold snap in NC this past weekend, I needed the pool pump running. I opted for the $4.80 solution of PVC piping to...

    circupool RJ45 goes Kaboom !

For future reference, if this happens to you, it can be fixed. Cell is $495 Housing is $88 New cable is $72. $650 for parts (not sure if that includes shipping) Now I shall ponder whether this gets fized or if I just go buy a whole new SWG system of some sort.

    circupool RJ45 goes Kaboom !

Well it looks like during the last 20F cold snap, water leaked from the cell into the chamber where the electrical contacts are. A few days ago, came out to see water spurting from the unit !! This is the older style RJ45 with the vertical setup. So, a new cell would be needed. And a new...

Must purchase new vac for fiberglass pool- Suggestions Pls.

I had a Kreepy krauly (not sure the model). Decent enough about half the time, but the smallest stick or leaf could stop it. Moppy, are you near Charlotte? If so you are welcome to borrow mine and try it out and see how it fairs. Our shallow end never got cleaned as the tube didn't quite...

Just manually vacuumed pool (for the last time I hope)

I've had a dolphin. It randomly died in year 3 and no means to fix it other than finding a service and cost to repair was going to be $300+. (2.5 stars on amazon) Switched to kreepy Krauly and 3/5 of my pool was very clean. Unless a small stick or leaf hits it the right way. Did this for the...

    Morton Pool Salt Problem

Another great thread ! After reading through here, what do you all think of the idea; instead of dumping the bag of salt in, you poke many holes in the bag and put the whole bag in the water. All particles that do not dissolve will end up on the bottom of the bag. Might take all night to slowly...

    Need recommendation for leaf catcher

I second the HaYWARD LEAF CLEANER. I bought one about a week ago, and have it inline with a Kreepy Krauly and it has been doing a great job catching everything the kreepy krauly sucks up. Well constructed. easy enough to clean out. Very impressed so far.

    Newbie in every way !!

Ok I will redo the CYA test 1st. Problem is, there is already a water restriction in place here. I am not sure I can refill. I guess I can get water delivered. Not quite sure where to drain either. What is draining etiquette ? I have neighbors downhill from me is 3 directions.

    Newbie in every way !!

Ahha ! Kit arrives. Cya = 100 ppm (previous owners used trichlor exclusively for years, end result, lots of acids kicking around) Free C = 18 PPM (due to lots of jugs added over the past 2 days) CC = 1 ppm ph = 7.25 Water 40% clearer than day before. Will test tonight and add bleach...

    Older Dolphin Diagnostic

We too have an older dolphin. When resetting, I click it off for a minute or so (and go fuss with some other pool chore) and then click it on. Our dolphin also gets stuck on the bottom drains. So the previous owners got large drain covers for this problem. They are like flat discs, maybe 1.5-2...
