    Water Bags ... Water Blocks

The reason for using water bags/blocks is safety. If someone fell in the pool when it is covered, they could pull the weights holding the cover down into the pool as they grab the cover struggling to climb out. A weight would sink to the bottom, possibly dragging the cover and person with them...

Why Does the pH of My Pool Constantly Drop?

I haven't added anything other than bleach and washing soda since opening several weeks ago. TA does creep up over the season and typically is a bit over 100 by the time I close in the fall. There is no autofill. The makeup water is mostly rain -- it's been raining regularly here. I can't...

Why Does the pH of My Pool Constantly Drop?

I use liquid chlorine -- the 182 oz bottles of Chlorox from Costco. I need to add between 1/3 and 1/5 bottle each day.

Why Does the pH of My Pool Constantly Drop?

I hear most people need to constantly add acid to their pools as the pH rises. The pH of my pool always goes down. I have never added acid and am constantly adding washing soda. Typical test results: FC: 3 to 6 ppm depending on the time of day CC: 0 ppm TA: 80 ppm CYA: 40 ppm pH: 7.4 I'll...

Now my DE filter is showing no pressure! - Bump up new ?

Re: Now my DE filter is showing no pressure! - new question It's also possible the pressure gauge is faulty. These gauges don't have a long life, but are not expensive.

    Trouble with Safety Cover Anchors

I also hit each anchor with a jet of water from a hose with a nozzle before moving them -- either opening or closing. This removes most of the grit and helps keep the threads clean. If you feel grit in the threads, remove the anchor and clean the threads before it gets so bad you can't remove it.

    Where Does This Pipe Lead??

Do you have a spa? It could be the return to the spa. Spa returns often have a check valve if the spa is higher than the pool. It is odd that there's no valve for this line.

Wiring 115v up to 230v for new pump. How can i do it?

Hire a licensed electrician. You want to this done properly and to code. I also wouldn't mess around with 230 V and a brand new pump.

    Return Flange Replacement?

Bama Rambler, thanks for the help. I was able to buy a new flange at the local pool store. As you said, removing the four screws and installing the new flange was easy. The liner stayed in place. The replacement took only a few minutes and went smoothly. Thanks for the help. It's great to have...

    Return Flange Replacement?

The plastic flange on the return of my pool cracked and about 1/4 of it fell off. The pool does not seem to be leaking now. How hard is to replace the flange without the liner moving? Am I better off replacing the flange or just leaving it? What's the best way to replace it? Thanks!
