    High TA of tap water

Hahaha!! Made me laugh & I'm really needing that at this point. Or, maybe I'll just go directly for the adult beverage!! Guess I'll go reverse the hoses also, just in case your theory is correct. I'll let ya know how it goes :)

    High TA of tap water

Thanks!! I knew I needed to water exchange, like you said, no way around it now. With a fiberglass I obviously can not drain 1/3rd all at once. Will I have the same result by putting my vacuum hose at the bottom of the deep end & the hose at the shallow end and exchange all at once?? or do I...

    High TA of tap water

My tap water test: pH 7.2 TA 330 CH 160 TC 0 I also forgot to mention the fact that we have a rock coping that is cemented down and we now have a calcium scaling on the cement that is under water (only the cement not the rock). I don't know if this is causing a problem OR if it's scaling...

    High TA of tap water

Okay, having a BIG problem with TA in my pool. So high right now I can't get a reading. I admit that I have NOT been keeping up with it due to summer time activities. I have been testing my FC and pH only & thought I was okay until I did a full test yesterday! I was reading on this forum and...

Use Miami well water to fill pool?

we used our well water in South Texas (no choice where we are) and have not had a problem getting our water balanced, but I suppose it depends on what is actually in your water. I'd say have it tested and then decide.

thanks Bama, the water has always LOOKED great. Clear and clean except the sand I'm having to vacuum off the bottom (we are still constructing the patio around it, this is a DIY so we are slow) we have swam in it every weekend and it FEELS good- it was just waiting for a problem with no FC...

    brand new pool chemicals

thanks guys, I did add a gallon of muratic acid today and then went & bought liquid chlorine. I'll test in the morning and see if I need more acid or if its time to add chlorine. And, Yes these numbers are from my new test kit. Where do I get the CYA from? Think I'll go back & read the pool...

    brand new pool chemicals

okay, decided to check my tap water with the strips JUST to get an idea, even if it isn't as accurate as a kit will be & here is what I found: pH 7.2, FC 0.5, TA 240 (highest on the strip) & stabilizer (is this CYA?) 30-50

Hello, we just had our pool installed this weekend and will have our water level up to the jets today and be able to turn on the pump. We live in the country and have very hard water (leaves white build up on everything) we did use our well water for filling. Should I poor straight clorox into...

    robots on a tanning ledge

Not sure if this has been covered yet, I looked back several pages & didn't find it, so here goes: We just got our 15x34 Fiberglass pool installed this weekend :whoot: Now I am looking for a robot cleaner. There is no 'toe-kick' on this pool like on some fiberglass BUT We have a rather large...
