Losing FC with SWG on High

I think my salt cell may need to be replaced, but you tell me what you think. I was recently SLAMming to get of some mild algae and I performed an OCLT, but forgot to turn my SWG off. Instead, with it running on high, I still lost like 5 FC overnight. The algae problem is cleared up now (OCLT...

    CYA test illumination

I know you're supposed to do it in full sunlight, with your back to the sun and held at waist level, but one thing I was wondering the other day, should the tube be in the shadow of your body or be illuminated by the sun? Also, you mention holding it differently changes things - what's the best...

    Doing to good a job...

You guys are doing too good a job explaining the TFPC method! I used to love coming to this algae subforum to see all the amazing swamp to oasis pictures, but there's been hardly any lately - no new posts even in the past few days. Time to take things into my own hands... Ok newbies, here's...

Problems with algae and milky water HELP

Wow, tough situation. If he doesn't have access to chlorine gas or it's not permitted in his area, is his only real option to stock up on barrels and barrels of 12.5% bleach?? Would ozone/UV be of any use in these special circumstances?

Question for those who don't close their pool over winter

Well I don't think the gauge it's broken because it'll read normal levels after backwashing. I think, after hearing everyone's advice, what's really needed is to open it up and give the grids a good cleaning. Anybody have any good videos for opening/closing DE filters? (Would be great if it...

Question for those who don't close their pool over winter

Yeah I run the cleaner 2hrs a day. I did have the skimmer socks, but I took them off in the winter because I was having to clean the skimmers even more when they were in, but maybe I should've left them in... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

Question for those who don't close their pool over winter

I kept backwashing - it's not good for it to stay at that high of a pressure, right? I just didn't add DE anymore.

Question for those who don't close their pool over winter

Hi, I'm in TX and started using the TFPC method on my pool last year with great results. I didn't close my pool, and other than the annoying part of constantly having to empty the leaves out of the skimmers/cleaner (2x a day in Nov), it went fine. I did have one issue though, and I wonder if...
