Put in Hayward Aquarite SWCG last April and its working great. Keeping tabs on all the chemicals in the pool : PH, ALK etc. Turned the SWCG down to 10% and still reading 5.0 to 6.0 for FC when testing the water. Water temp is currently 56 degrees and knowing that it stops producing Chlorine...

Quick question or two regarding vinegar.....first, my understanding is don't dilute it and second is it necessary to let it soak in the vinegar for a full 24 hours......thanks

Thanks for the info mknauss........I am glad I addressed this now since I can take care of this next week, since its not being installed till Aprill 11th.......I had no idea our pool salt content was so high......but I guess over the years using the TFP method with liquid chlorine breaking down...

no worries.....just found a gallon of distilled water mixed 2 cups with 2 cups pool water then tested.....its came up 4200 ppm.....my math and chemistry skills are pretty sad, but would that mean more than half the water needs to be replaced in the pool?

would RO water work since we have an RO system in the house or should I use strictly distilled water for the 50/50 test?

yes it is.....so I think between the Taylor and strip tests, they are both high.......so as I stated will have to do a drain and refill to get ppm down before SWCG is installed......

just used the test strips and it came in at 7000 ppm.........so I will drain and refill Tested the water from the street before going to the softener and reads 400 ppm also.....so the water softener is ok, it is serviced every year.....its a city of Phoenix issue......thats why we have a RO...

Just tested the pool water again.......this time it came out at 8400 ppm........42 drops used.......the tips dont seem to be clogged and the kit is brand new , since I have had that problem in the past with some reagents......might get the test strips and compare results......my last question...
