    Taylor kit in Canada?

So I called Lowry and they directed me to Automated Aquatics in Edmonton. They quoted the 2006c for $390!!! amazon.ca has the 2006 for about $140. But I’d much rather the larger commercial variant.

Milky water - can’t clear up

Gotcha. We'll try to keep the chlorine levels up and the cover off when we are there. Hopefully this weekend we can monitor it more closely for a few days and get started on a SLAM. Thanks everyone for your assistance. I wasn't quite sure if I could SLAM the white milkyness out, or if SLAM...

Milky water - can’t clear up

Thank you @CrystalRiver for your great reply. I was under the impression that the UV from the sun would break down FC and so my thought was that covering it could be beneficial in order to keep the FC levels more consistent, but I understand from your post that the sun is needed to break down...

Milky water - can’t clear up

Regarding the pool cover: I have read this post and it suggests to remove the cover during the whole SLAM process. https://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/pool-cover-during-slam.90804/ But I should add that legally where we live the cover is supposed to be on whenever we aren't directly...

Milky water - can’t clear up

Thanks for the replies. I'll look at getting a better test kit. I know the paper dip sticks are not very reliable. My liquid test kit I have seems to be generally similar to what the store results are. But I'm not confident in either and will look more into the options recommended by TFP. In...

Milky water - can’t clear up

What's strange about the high copper reading is that it only showed high on the last reading ie. after we exchanged 1/3 of the water. But I agree, likely came from their products. Unless a low PH could leech copper from the pipes? I understand about the liquid chlorine and we will continue...

Milky water - can’t clear up

Unfortunately I don't think either of those kits are available in Canada. (Both are on amazon.ca, but are currently unavailable). Are you sure that those kits are better than what the store can do? Their test system seems to be pretty fancy. I can upload one of the reports if you like. the name...

Milky water - can’t clear up

Most of these tests are from the store (Those which include phosphates, copper iron are). But some are my tests. We have paper test strips, and a 5-way liquid test kit. I can't remember the brand.

Milky water - can’t clear up

We have an in-ground pool of about 50,000L in Alberta Canada. This past winter the cover we used failed in several places and the water underneath was horribly dirty. We added excess liquid chlorine like we do every spring, let it sit a week and found chlorine was basically gone. We tried...

Do I need a Secondary Filter?

We have an in-ground pool approx. 51,000 liters. The pool has two pipes leaving it (from the skimmer, and from the bottom of the pool) and two pipes going back to the pool (a set of jets on either side of the pool). The plumbing (see attached) has a large filter (black) on one set of pipes...
