    question regarding bromine loading

A cap full of MPS after each use was also recommended to me. That's about 2 ounces (I measured). Without delving into the NaBr formula-weight math, my package says 1 ounce per 100 gallons equals 60 parts per million. I load to 10 ppm = 1/3 ounce NaBr on fill. 10 ppm bromine is the highest...

    Cheap source for "MPS Oxidizer"?

Perhaps unhelpful, but MPS is DuPont OXONE and CAROAT by Evonik (used to be Degussa). I am being similarly frustrated by the expense of MPS and its nonavailability in bulk (presumably less expensive). In/by the summer, when I can spend more time outside than today @ 10°F, I'll seriously...

Newbie Q: How do I determine minimum MPS dose and rate?

Sorry for this belated acknowledgment and thanks.

Newbie Q: How do I determine minimum MPS dose and rate?

Thanks! I add NaBr once to 10 ppm and test to verify but not again, hence my concern about MPS rate. The spa is used a bit less than 1 person-soak per day that provides a regular if not consistent dose of organics. The regular MPS addition should make the average [Br]~5 ppm.

Newbie Q: How do I determine minimum MPS dose and rate?

I'm pretty comfortable maintaining my spa chemistry with generic chemicals and my Taylor Tech. K-2000 . I am a bit frustrated maintaining the balance between TA and pH but kind of expect it in 211 gallons. A kilogram of MPS costs $25 here. It may be my most expensive chemical by mass, per...
