    Polaris Issues

Sure sounds like it. The backup valve should only squirt water out of the reversing hole for approximately 30 seconds every 6-8 minutes. Sounds like your revering valve is stuck and no water is getting through the the base unit.

    Looking to buy

I recommend the 40K. Reason being the 60K unit may be too powerful even at the lowest setting. I have a pool the same size as yours. The builder installed a Jandy 1400 which is the 40K model. Mine comfortably maintains the Chlorine level and it is set at 35%. If you oversize the unit too much...

    SWG pros and cons

I love my SWCG. Would not consider going back. I have several neighbors who chlorinate using tablets, and they always seem to work harder at maintaining their pool than I do. Not that I neglect mine, it just needs less fiddling around now that I have the water balanced. There are some...

    Chrlorine to SWG Conversion

Since you're using pucks, be sure to get a good reading on your CYA level. Pucks contain Cyanuric Acid to help stabilize the chlorine. Cyanuric acid is usually only reduced by replacing water. Puck use over a long period of time can generally cause CYA levels to rise slowly to a point where they...

    Aquapure - cell replacement

Found the following fitting in another thread about this same topic. I may be able to put this coupling on the outside of the Jandy valve body after cutting the old pipe off flush. I have been informed that the Jandy valves are made for this. You can guarantee I'll be leaving at least 2...

    Aquapure - cell replacement

I am one of the unlucky ones who has the old style 2 port Aquapure 1400 cell and I am now faced with replacement. The new cells that Jandy sells are a different length and will require some plumbing work in order to make them fit. I haven't bought a replacement cell yet. I am pretty mad that...

    Jandy Aquapure Apure 700

The new cell is a different length than the old one and will require some minor plumbing changes. See this thread: http://www.troublefreepool.com/how-to-replace-jandy-aquapure-1400-t29902.html. I believe the steps are the same for the 700 and the 1400 cell models, but you should verify. Also...

What is the problem with short runtime?

Your SWCG only draws the full 220W when it is generating chlorine. When you run it at 50%, it's running for half the time, so it's not using the full power draw when the cell is resting. So over the course of an hour, the cell is producing chlorine and drawing full power for 30 minutes. 3 hours...

Best method to "dial in" the SWG?

I might add that you should monitor your daytime chlorine levels carefully if you run the pump (and SWCG of course) at night. This means that your pool is not getting any chlorine production during the day when the sun is bearing down on it. That is the time when you need chlorine to be...

    new house, first pool opening

:blah: Don't listen to your buddy on this one. The guys here at TFP are your new buddies when it comes to all things pool related. I have spent the past year lurking and soaking up all of the knowledge. The end result is a very stable, balanced, low maintenance pool in my yard.

Former Nature2 user with questions about adding borates

I had a new Nature2 cartridge each year for the last 2 years. I removed my spent cartridge at the end of last season and have not purchased a new one yet. I'm just running the pool water through the empty Nature2 housing. I have been reading about adding borates to my pool, but I am concerned...
