Answered my own question. You can indeed replace the cable on the VRX IQ+ and/or Alpha IQ+. The cable is R0726700 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094T1829T?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details). It is a bit tedious but took about 30-45 minutes total.

I have been having an issue with the subscription as well. I have been subscribed since the app came out but this year every time I open the app and try to add a log it wants me to subscribe. Restore Subscription says Subscription Not Found. I have to hit Subscribe and it starts working...
