    Pump/Filter Pressure Question

Hi! :-D Right now we are still running the pump 24/7, since we don't want to clean the filters everyday. We would really like to lower utility costs and conserve energy by shutting the pump off part of the time. If I haven't made our issue clear, please feel free to ask...

    Pump/Filter Pressure Question

After cleaning the filters, it runs at approx. 8. It will hold at that for at least a week, sometimes 2, before going over 10 when we are running the pump all the time. If we shut the pump off, when we turn it back on it jumps up 6-8 psi, for a total of 14 - 16 psi. It does not go back down...

Good morning! Our water is beautiful and crystal clear. We have been bringing the FC to 8 each evening and leaving the pool uncovered. It looks like we are there. We will keep bringing the FC to 8 each evening for the next few days to make sure the CC stays at .5. After maintaining FC 8...

Here are our test results: 8-7-09 7:30 p.m. FC 14.5 CC 1.5 ( at 28 drops on the FC there was just barely a hint of pink, so it hasn't changed much) We did not add anything. 8-8-09 7:45 a.m. (no sun on pool) FC 14 CC 1.5 PH 7.3 We understand...

Where did my CYA go? Help with CC.

It sure looks like our pool did the same as Richard's. Only our problem went on longer, since we tried working through it with the EZ pool system first. We definitely had 0 chlorine readings, since with the EZ pool you only put in one chlorine stick a week (big mistake :hammer: ). Once we...

Where did my CYA go? Help with CC.

Since you haven't seen this happen during the pool season before, I will give you the history of how all this came down. The CYA had been around 100 ever since we had opened the pool May 20 or so. We didn't change the pool to EZ pool for probably a month and it was clear and beautiful before...

Where did my CYA go? Help with CC.

I was mistaken about the color of the ammonia sample yesterday (Sorry). Bob, my husband, said it was definitely yellow. I must have looked before they put the chemical in. But, I guess that means our ammonia is okay. I didn't mean to give bad information. Thanks for all the help! Debbie

Where did my CYA go? Help with CC.

We appreciate everyone's help. We are making progress, but not there yet. There have been so many helpful posts. Here are the answers to some of the questions that have been asked. The pool company appears to be using the LaMotte System. They use the small vials, as you described. Our test...

Where did my CYA go? Help with CC.

Thanks for the info. We do not have an auto fill and our level has remained constant. We have not added any water all summer. We have pumped a little out during June due to rain, but that's it. Again, thanks so much for the response. Debbie

Where did my CYA go? Help with CC.

Thank you so much for all the info. We will go tomorrow and get everything, including the copper and ammonia, checked. We will nuke it now. Wow, there is so much to learn. I sure wish we had not tried the EZ Pool. We were doing great before that. We appreciate all your help. Thanks! Debbie
