    Getting ready for SWG

Thanks for clearing that up. My fingers didn't type what my brain was thinking! :D My inner science nerd is wondering what could be done with all that "wasted" hydrogen. My inner engineer is already designing a collection system with a funnel, tubing and some sort of ignition source.

    Getting ready for SWG

New SWG (IntelliChlor IC40) owner here.. had the same question about bubbles coming out of the returns when the SWG is running. They're hydrogen bubbles. Hydrogen is a byproduct of the SWG process of converting Salt to Chlorine. For some plumbing runs, the hydrogen doesn't get dispersed in...

Adding a hot tub to existing fiberglass pool

I'll second Manorpool.. We were considering the same question a couple years ago with our 15k gallon gunite pool. After talking to a couple contractors (and several folks here), it looked like it'd be $30k-40k to add an in-ground spa to the pool. That was way out of our budget.

Pentair MasterTemp 400 switches to SPA mode on its own

I know this is an old thread, but just had this same problem with my MasterTemp 400 (installed August 2016). When the Intermatic timer kicked on, the heater would "boot up", then go into Spa mode. My temporary fix for this was to lower the Spa temp setting to it's lowest value. Pentair...

    Piru Queen Palms in Houston?

My biggest advice.. When they start to flower, cut those fronds off ASAP before they make fruit/nuts. Either do it yourself or hire someone. Otherwise, it becomes a daily chore of scooping flowers/nuts out of the pool and off the deck. The nuts very quickly stain spots on the bottom of the pool...

    Easy Pool Float Rack

Everybody has this problem.. pool floats either scattered around the deck, or piled up in a corner. They get dirty and collect leaves/debris. I came up with this after seeing that FB post about PVC pipe being used to make a towel rack. Total cost was less than $50 in PVC pipe & joints. Took...

Add Spa with Pool Renovation?? Estimates?? Houston Tx Recommendations?

Thanks! Haven't done anything with the sand so far... other than trying to break up the "clumps & yucks" when I was cleaning it. :) Now that the water conditions are stable and good , I'm going to remove the old sand and replace it with new.

Add Spa with Pool Renovation?? Estimates?? Houston Tx Recommendations?

Update.... The water has been in the pool 1 week today. Have had the pump going with the tab chlorinator running. The water is looking great. Things are looking really great after spending last weekend putting in stone border and mulch in the plant area. The numbers (from T-100 AND pool...

Add Spa with Pool Renovation?? Estimates?? Houston Tx Recommendations?

Thanks for the warning.. was planning on heading to the Home Depot to grab some of the Quikrete Pool Sand. Found an Ace Hardware with HTH pool sand, so I'll be going there instead.. Here's a new question.. with 1/2 the sand already gone, would it be better to remove the remaining old sand...
