    Cloudy water

I did backwash and vaccum again, but we got 2 in of rain in about 45min yesterday and it looks like I'll have to do it again! :hammer: But I think maybe I am turning the corner it is starting to look a little clearer. I'll do an overnight test tonight and see. Thanks for the help and suggestions!

Thanks for the help guys. The faster stirring and adding of drops did the trick! Thanks again!

    fas-dpd test

Shocking because the water has remained a little cloudy and I saw what appeared to be some algae growing in several spots. When testing I usually stir by hand for about 2 seconds maybe then add another drop and repeat.

I'm mixing by hand. That is a possibility of the sample changing faster than I can tell or at least that would make some sense.

Yes I am using the 10ml sample and I dont remeber where I stopped at like 75 or something but there was no change after about 52 drops. I've done the test for months and have never seen it do this before its usually a definate change to clear.

    fas-dpd test

I've been trying to maintain a FC level of 30 for the past 2 days to shock. I have only added a little here and there as it has not lost much. I'm having to guess a little because I can't read the test correctly. Its gets almost clear and just stays there. I used the pool calculator and a large...

    fas-dpd test

I've been using this test for a while but since I've started shocking the pool I'm getting odd results with the test. It normally goes completely clear when adding the drops but the last few times I've tried it never gets clear no matter how many drops I put in it. I've also had to add about 2...

    Cloudy water

Nothing in pool not even a ladder and the steps are built in. I'm almost certain its algae. I just bought a truckload of bleach and am currently shocking. I am familiar with the sediment you are referring to as I deal with that almost every day due to trees and the layout of the yard constantly...

    Cloudy water

Actually I wasn't quite at shock level as I didn't have enough bleach on hand last night. But I will get some asap and shock and see. I just don't get it I've never been close to min level and it was clean although still cloudy last night but I haven't had a pollen problem here in months...

    Cloudy water

I'm at a loss. Overnight test FC 20 CC.5 last night, FC 19.5 CC.5 this morning which looks good. But the algea looking spots are back in the same places as yesterday after a thorough vaccuming and brushing. May not be algea but sure looks like it. Filter ran all night. I just don't understand...

    Cloudy water

I think I'm safe on the Cl levels, I've done my homework thanks to this site! :goodjob: Although this afternoon I noticed more stuff in the pool that has me a little concerned. I vaccumed and brushed every inch of it just to be sure. I checked at 3:00 and 7:30pm and FC 9.5 CC.5 both times. I...

    Cloudy water

Ok thanks, always wondered about that. I'm always vacumming it due to the neverending battle with the leaves and such, my fiance thinks I may be a little obsesed but after the "transformation" as I like to call it I'm a little picky! I'll do an overnight test tonight just to be sure!

    Cloudy water

I'll try to pick up some acid tommorrow.I do have a regular suction vac. I have to use it at least once a week! The polaris works fine but it dosent get the really fine stuff that accumulates every time the wind blows! The only thing with the vac is it never gets a full prime. Is that normal...
