Chlorine going bye bye in my pool

Greetings to the all knowing of TFP. My pool is doing great but with one problem. As you can tell in my signature block I have an Intex 16'x48" AGP. with Intex SWG. I can't keep the chlorine levels up about 5 or 7. they keep dropping off. Do I need to add some sort of stabilizer to the...

Levels I AGP w/ intex swg

Oh and yesterday I threw in a gallon of clorox this way I didn't have to run the swg in boost mode. We had rain and I hadn't had the swg running. So I kicked up the chlorine levels Be nice. not a thumb typer sent from my phone. :)

    Yearly Intex Setup

I would put down some sand and then a tarp, but that is my $.02 worth, mine sits on 16"x16" patio pavers (Deck doubled as a basketball area in the 'off-season' but have left pool up for 3 seasons yeah yeah I know) but this fall taking down pool, will rip up the pavers and relocate them to...

Ultra Frame 24x52 foot not quite level

Rich, here is another thought on filling it back up. if the town you are in has a Volunteer Fire Department, you could possibly ask them if they can help fill it for you. Some towns will allow them to do this, they call it 'pump training' and something about filling up a pool with a 5" supply...

"Real" AGP and Salt Water Systems

thanks for all the replies. It cemented what I was thinking, a bunch of hogwash/dirty water. LOL

"Real" AGP and Salt Water Systems

and what's funny, is on their door, they had a sale on 25# of chlorine. I do have to admit, most pool places make their $$$$ on chems. not me, with help from TFP and my SWG, I am nice and crystal clear! now to get the TF-100 kit :)

"Real" AGP and Salt Water Systems

ah, that makes total sense. Their big product they were pushing for SW pools I want to say was Simple-Salt. Below is a snippit from the website. and I don't believe it one bit! <snip> The Simple Salt System offers such advanced technology that it is truly a low-maintenance system; set it...

"Real" AGP and Salt Water Systems

That is what I thought, and with the newer pools, they are more of a resin construction instead of the old metal. It was probably just the pool place trying to make more money on a fiberglass IGP. I won't be going back to this place at all, only thing I needed them for was my new access ladder...

Leslie's Pools says they cannot help me so I came here.

another thought if you have a Intex Knock-Off like the ultra-Frame pools, go get yourself some of the 1'x1' bricks from either Home Depot/Lowes/Menards etc, and place that under each leg, will give a solid surface for your legs and possibly prevent the sinking issue you are having. Don't give...

"Real" AGP and Salt Water Systems

Just wanted to throw this out to the masses and see what sticks. I was in a pool place yesterday and asked some questions about 'real' salt-water systems. ie. Hayward Aqua-Trol etc.. they (Pool Place) said that it isn't recommended for vinyl lined pools, salt-water systems are usually for...
