    Pool Math App Update

I like the app and use it. I have not experienced any issues with it. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to add, under "Effects of Adding," the option of fluid ounces to the menu for powders--Borax, Washing Soda, Baking Soda, Dry Stabilizer, etc.

What is the best sealant for fiberglass steps to surrounding concrete?

Hi pooldv, This is a tardy follow up, but that is basically what I did. After removing what was left of the old sealant, I filled the void between the step insert and the concrete with sand (this seam varied in width and depth, and there was no expansion joint material that I could see). I then...

What is the best sealant for fiberglass steps to surrounding concrete?

You're exactly right, pookiesunshine. I'm referring to the top, horizontal outside seam where the outside perimeter (3 sides) of the step insert joins the surrounding concrete. I'll post some before and after photos. I do recall this same builder used silicone sealant to seal the underwater...

What is the best sealant for fiberglass steps to surrounding concrete?

A pool builder I contacted recommended filling any voids with play sand up to a half-inch from the top, then filling this half-inch void with self leveling concrete sealant available from Home Depot. I'll give this method a try and report back here when finished. Philip

    Stratified rainwater causing SWG shutdown?

Mozella, Do you have a main drain? If so, are you able to switch off your skimmers, and pull only from the main drain? Pull only from the main drain if you can, and see if the problem recurs. If it does not, that would seem to support your stratification theory. Philip

Does the salt cell have to be the "highest point of plumbing?"

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Richard and James, your replies made a lot of sense to me, and I installed the salt cell per the directions. I'm glad I did--the housing is transparent and it is so easy to inspect the plates for build up with the cell so high off the ground! :)

Does the salt cell have to be the "highest point of plumbing?"

I am installing a Saline Generating Systems "Breeze 540" SWCG. I am about to install the salt cell on the return line. The installation manual says the cell "must be located above the highest point of plumbing." On another page the manual says, "The cell housing should be located 6 inches above...

I'm paying $2.79 for Clorox 8.25% in 121 oz. jugs at Kroger in Northeast Georgia. Must have a Kroger card to get the $1.00 off the regular $3.79 price. Philip
