    Hey guys, I'm back!

Thanks Allen, as for the scheduling, I am going off of what I have read in the past. Whether or not this is a true case is beyond me. Makes sense if areas charge higher electrical rates during the day. I've read in the past that you do not need to run the pump 24/7. I'll calculate my turnover...

    Hey guys, I'm back!

3 years ago, my 30 year old above ground pool opened up like a zipper and we decided to go without a pool. Well, after a few seasons, we decided we missed it dearly so we now have our pool back. Everything is back up and running as of yesterday. I'll be working on adding chemicals and cleaning...

    J-Bead/Uni-Bead or Overlap?

Well, I bought an overlap liner from Nationalpoolwarehouse.com and got it installed this weekend. The entire process would have been a snap if my pool had been set properly in it's track. I now know why it looked uneven for the past 10 years. After wrestling with it for 3 hours and suffering...

    J-Bead/Uni-Bead or Overlap?

I researched a little online and a few places suggest using an overlap. Since this what I currently have, I might as well follow suit. Now it's a matter of finding the best deal online.

    J-Bead/Uni-Bead or Overlap?

I currently have a 10 year old overlap liner that I'm looking to replace. Should I stick with another overlap or has anyone had success with the J-bead type liner? I have a 27' round AGP. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

I'm nervous about installing a new liner

I thought about searching for the leak and patching it. The liner is 9 years old and is probably wearing out. I may just fill the darn thing and see how long it takes for the water level to drop. Plus this will give me time to save up for a nice liner plus research on how to put the darn...

I'm nervous about installing a new liner

Hi all. The swimming season is about to start soon here in Illinois and what I put off last year needs to be done this year, a new liner. I noticed this winter that my water level under the winter cover is now down to 2 feet. There must be a pin hole somewhere because I know rain water and...

    Sequestering Agent

I purchased HTH Metal Control this morning. I got 2 bottles for the price of one bottle of Pool Magnet. I'll report my results later.

    Sequestering Agent

Is HTH Metal Out or Metal Control (I don't know the official title) and Bio Guard Pool Magnet Plus the same product? There is about a $10 difference between the two and I'm doing a Ascorbic Acid treatment this weekend for severe metal stains and I want to make sure I do this right the first time.

Advise on a Aqua Trol SWG

I appreciate the input. I'm weighing the options. This is my first season with the BBB method and I've been happy so far. Cost is obviously the biggest factor right now. Especially with a 2 yr old and a 6 month old on one income. Looks like the SWG has a huge convenience factor. I can get...

Looks like algae on vinyl liner but will not brush off!

The sales person from the pool store wants me to purchase another product called Sparkle Up to run through my filter after the Pool Magnet has been applied. I didn't read this in MBar's treatment plan. Would that item be necessary?

Looks like algae on vinyl liner but will not brush off!

What is a sequestering agent? I am going to get the ascorbic acid to treat the stain and it calls for this agent to help remove it from the water. Is this the same product as Bio Guard Pool Magnet Plus? My water chemistry is about right for me to start this process. Any responses would be...

Looks like algae on vinyl liner but will not brush off!

13,000 gallons. I measured wall to wall and the width is 25 feet. Like I said before, the pool is at least 20 years old. Maybe they made 25 foot rounds then. BTW, I just had to explain to my wife why I was in the pool in the rain with a tape measure  . Luckily, no lightning. Anyway...
