Liquid chlorine runs $30 for a decent size jug, which wouldn't last long. Maintaining a SWG is much cheaper in the long run, as long as you use cell saver in your pool it stays clean a lot longer too.

I love how soft salt water makes the water feel, I don't even like swimming in normal chlorine pools anymore after I've had one. Plus the cost of chlorine tablets and shock is crazy, I love not having to pay for as many chemicals.

We already have a bunch of flexible hose from old intex pools over the years, so I wouldn't need to buy anything at all.

Are you talking about the timer feature that's supposed to control the filter pump for you? If so, to troubleshoot I would make sure there's nothing wrong with your filter pump (plug it into an outlet directly, not through the panel). If your filter pump works fine, there may be something wrong...
