New borate drop test at piscines-apollo vs. test strip

@JoyfulNoise I am resurrecting and old conversation in this thread because I have recently been in touch with Chris at clearwaterstesting.com. I sent him a screen shot of this post and here is his response... "That is great due diligence on your part. Yes I was having some customer issues a few...

    White Flakes resurfaced pool

The question was should I aerate to raise PH, no chemicals involved. As far as the CH the pool has a new exposed aggregate resurface so I have been slowly raising it to see where it wants to fall.

    White Flakes resurfaced pool

Ok, no water features on my pool and I have the return jets aimed so that there is just a slight ripple in the water to create a vortex motion to the skimmer basket. I haven't had to add any water lately due to a lot of rain here in Florida. So I didn't know if I should bring PH back up quicker...

    White Flakes resurfaced pool

I thought the off gassing of the SWG cell has always contributed to the rise in PH. As far as being quick on the reading, I waited an hour after adding acid and tested.

    White Flakes resurfaced pool

I recently had my pool resurfaced with an exposed aggregate. I am at the 30 day mark and just took it back to SWG. I am noticing white flakes in the Polaris 380 bag. These fizz when I drop Muratic acid on them. My test reading are as follows: Water Temp 82 deg. FC 4.0 PH 7.8 TA 80 CH 300 CYA 60...

    Polaris 380 slow in pool

I don't think that is the problem. What I observe is that the wheels turn fast for example out of the water and when I put it in the water they start turning real slow.

    Polaris 380 slow in pool

I have a Polaris 380 that is about 4 years old. I have bought a new pump, opened up the 380 and checked everything inside. All is good as far as I can see. The unit when it is in the pool is real slow. I do notice when I take it out of the water it starts to run a lot faster but the minute I put...
