What is the purpose of this hose?

There is a very thin, flexible black hose that ties into two different above ground PVC pipes for my pool pump. The plastic connection between the hose and the PVC pipe (shown in the picture) has cracked and my pool plumbing can no longer keep pressure. I would like to get this part replaced but...

Pump runs, but will not circulate water

It is a standard cartridge filter. The pressure has remained consistent with no fluctuations.

Pump runs, but will not circulate water

I will check, but until recently the pump would completely circulate the water (as shown at the end of the video) without the blower's assistance.

Pump runs, but will not circulate water

I've posted a video of the pump running without anything happening until I turn the blower on/off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAR6dkClheA&feature=em-upload_owner

Pump runs, but will not circulate water

What is a fairly new pump (< 1 year old) has out of the blue stopped circulating the water unless I turn on the blower for a second to "get it going". The pump is primed and full of water. There are no air bubbles in the pump basket. Here is what happens: 1. I turn the pump on, small bubbles...

    Need advice on replacing pump

My new pump will have the same PVC connection direction, albeit 5-10 inches off laterally. The new pump (hayward maxflo2) will come with unions. I'm more concerned about whether I should cut above the T-joints, below, way more upstream? Should I cut closer to the intake joint or closer the pump...

    Need advice on replacing pump

I am replacing my pump and would like to get some advice on the best place to cut my intake/outtake PVC at? This will be my first time working with PVC (and replacing a pump). So, where do I cut for easy replacement?

Pump, blower, and heater will not start (coincidence?)

I have three problems that all happened together concerning my spa equipment. 1) The blower will not start. I suspect it is an electrical problem, as when I turn the switch absolutely nothing happens. I have reset the breaker in the panel board and checked the wiring inside the blower. What...

Thanks, the spa is independent and not connected to any pool.

    Inground Spa Water Level Dropping

I just moved into a new home with an inground spa. It has been losing water when I fill it to full capacity. When I let it "leak" all the water it can, it usually stops around the upper part of a jet (see picture). This leads me to believe it is not the jets. I turned all the pumps off and it...
