    Do you use your sunshelf?

    I am in the middle of a remodel and added a waveform step that doubles as a sunshelf, extends out 7'6" @8" of water (well, that's what we're calculating, in the coping stage still, no water in pool). It took 11 yards of gunite to build the steps last week.

    Leak in new spa after first fill

    Spas have a check valve on the spa drain to keep water from returning to the pool via the pump - to find level (gravity). Perhaps there is a piece of trash in the check valve keeping it from closing or maybe it wasn't installed.

    Request for Advice: Rennovation in Massachusetts

    Just my take on it, nothing ever goes according to plan time-wise. For a pool of that age, there will be issues uncovered during the reno process, I would prepare for that. In my latitude, pools don't close; construction goes year round, so I'm not up on opening/closing. I would go forward now...
