i have (and am using for the first time) the intex sand filter/saltwater pump combo. it has a low and hi salt warning built in. just wondered if i need to invest in a salt water tester to see how many ppm it has. so far none of the warnings have gone off. though i just started using it...

thanks for this post. i just did mine today and this thread pretty much took all of the worries out while i was doing. still a little scary but not as bad as i thought it was going to be.

did you have to do any cutting or modifications to get the new pump hoses to fit the pool? or did it work right out of the box. also what is that thermometer you have?

i was thinking of that too. one problem is i have 3 large dogs but i could probably figure out a way to keep them off of it. also kind of worried about stray cats walking on it. i was thinking maybe just throw a heavy duty tarp over it...my neighbors will love that lol.

pool was 95 yesterday. to hot so i left the cover off last night and its about 91, much better. on the plus side we got our first night swim in. the 95 degree water was fine for then.

i bit my tongue when i first saw the rocks cuz i wasnt sure if you liked them. i was relieved when i scrolled down and saw that you removed those hideous things. looks so much better now.

my pool is way smaller but i roll it up with a piece of pvc tube. makes it way easier to roll and unroll. then i just set it on 2 chairs that are spaced apart. ive been thinking about hanging it on the side of the house or the outside of the pool but havent gotten around to it.

yea i didnt think dumpng the borax straight in would be a good idea. thats why i thought to ask. didnt think about dissolving it first, duh lol. thanks for your help.

and thanks to the 2 above who gave prices. i did a google search and all i could find were old answers and nothing about the size of the box. $3 was what they said too. wasnt sure if that was a tiny box though.

ok, i wont worry about too much for now then. now if i do need to use it in the future...do i just dump the amount according to the calculator in front of the return jet? or do i hang it in a nylon or something? figured i would ask now so i dont have to start a new thread later just for it lol.
