Big divergence between measured salt level and what the SWG reports

It was not generating. I’m adding liquid chlorine to SLAM now anyway to get rid of some algae

Big divergence between measured salt level and what the SWG reports

I heated up my spa to 80 degrees and now the salt cell is reading 3200ppm- looks like it is just struggling with the lower water temp. Everything lines up. The water is a bit colder than when I normally start trying to open the pool. Weird cold weather. We’ve been swimming in March in some years...

Big divergence between measured salt level and what the SWG reports

Thanks- salt is the only thing I used strips for but it’s always been close enough. I’ve never seen it 1000+ ppm different than what the SWG reports.

Big divergence between measured salt level and what the SWG reports

Yes water is around 60. I can heat up the spa water to see if that changes anything.

Big divergence between measured salt level and what the SWG reports

I’m measuring around 3200ppm, but the salt cell is only reporting 2100ppm. I just went and bought fresh salt test strips but got the same result. My next step is to acid clean the SWG- could that cause this discrepancy or is the SWG just going bad?

I need some help with white flakes in my pool

I assumed they were calcium flakes from my SWG because the Ph was drifting too high. But I have addressed that with my acid feeder and the white flakes are just as bad, if not worse. Here are the numbers from my test today (taylor Fas-dpd test kit). Nothing seems crazy to me- in fact it seems...

    Pentair Mastertemp heater problems

One quick addition- when I first started looking at this, I removed the thermal regulator to check it and found that it was bad, so I replace it, It didn't have any impact of the behavior of the heater, though.

    Pentair Mastertemp heater problems

Hi all- I've got some time at home now with self-isolation, so I'm working on my pool equipment. My 8-year-old Mastertemp 400 won't stay lit. It's not throwing any diagnostic codes- the burner fires, but it smells bad like it is not burning right, and it even sounds wrong (deep rumble- more...

In a bit of a pickle with working on my Savi Melody LED lights. Anybody with experience with working on them?

Maybe to ask this more generically, what are the ways to get something like a stubborn return fitting removed, because thats basically what these lights are? If it does require damage/removal of some plaster, how big of a deal is it to fix it?

In a bit of a pickle with working on my Savi Melody LED lights. Anybody with experience with working on them?

tl;dr- I can't get my Savi Melody light out to replace it. Any tips? Long version- I have 5 Savi Melody (now owned by Jandy/Zodiac) lights in my pool. 2 of them have failed and been dead for years (pool was built in 2012). This year I finally got motivated to try to fix them, so I bought a...

Man I love this site- it is very empowering

Just want to make sure I’m not missing anything. I am now on day 8 of the SLAM. The water cleared up after 2-3 days, so the pool looks beautiful now but I am still losing 3-4ppm of chlorine overnight and occasionally measure 0.5 CC. Do I just need more POP (pool owner patience) or am I missing...
