    CYA zero and not rising.

I have a TF-100 test kit. I think it is 3 years old. Thanks, Chris

    CYA zero and not rising.

Hi, I'm having trouble with CYA at a zero level after the winter. I've added 5# and still see little or no change. I first added 3# and could detect an increase in cloudiness in the test tube. Then I added 2# more and tested 3 weeks later and it's clear again. I can't find a record of...

Reducing TA in <1yr plaster pool

Thanks! Is it safe to swim at a level of 6.8 pH? Doesn't seem too acidic, but the pool service guy used to say don't swim for 3 hours after he added acid. Chris

No problems yet with lower CYA and FC levels

Thanks to All! I didn't mention that at the end of last year the FC level was above 5ppm (I didn't have a DPD/FAS kit then) and I turned the SWCG off until the FC level dropped to <1ppm. That caught me off guard so I turned the SWCG up to 100% and in 4 days it was up to 2ppm so I cut it back...

Reducing TA in <1yr plaster pool

Thanks Jason, Any harm in lowering the pH to 6.8 just so see what it looks like on the tester? Here are some pictures of two aerators I created: https://plus.google.com/photos/102324247297226262993/albums/6152606820627027969?authkey=CNa8mvbl8OLbJQ The venturi runs off the pool cleaner line...

No problems yet with lower CYA and FC levels

New to pool chemistry, so I wanted to just post and see if anyone sees problems headed my way. At the moment the pool is just fine. As mentioned on another post i'm trying to reduce my TA, which explains the low pH Current Chemistry: pH 7.0 - 7.2, before this I have been keeping it below 7.6...

Reducing TA in <1yr plaster pool

Hi Is my approach to lowering TA working as one should expect? Should I be doing this while my pool is only 10mo old? I'm trying to get my TA down from 110 (it went as high as 150 during the first few months of the pool). I'm dropping the pH down to below 7.2 and aerating with a small...

    Large Crack in new Gunnite

Well technically it isn't a structural crack, by that I mean it didn't happen under load. I am told that it is not a structural issue by my PB, who referred to it as "slag". I want to be sure he is correct and that it gets treated appropriately so it doesn't telegraph through the Pebbletec. It...

    Large Crack in new Gunnite

Hi, The day after gunnite this crack appeared. It is about 5' long and almost 3/8" wide. The PB says that it is easily fixed and is not structural. Is this true and if so what is the correct fix? Thanks, Chris
