Hi this sounds like you have a water damaged PDA. I have the same problem. I am currently trying to repair one of my water damaged units but in the process I damaged a connector to the LCD panel. I would be interested in buying your damaged unit if you still have it.

Hi, So I recently discovered that the display on my Jandy model 8265 PDA was malfunctioning. The LCD was becoming very difficult to read. I was able to dissassemble the PDA and disconnect the ribbon cable for the LCD. Unfortunately the LCD ribbon cable became damaged and I need a replacement...
