What is the best lube to use? Teflon or silicone base? Currently just using a water base for installing, but I think its probably only good for installing and not for the life of the o-ring.

Adding CYA Can you start adding CYA even if your water is not completely balanced yet? Still need to lower PH (a little over 8) and TA (170). But I have never put any CYA. From what I've been reading I should have some CYA. Or, should I first balance my water?

CYA brand? Is there a household chem. for CYA or is it one of the things you have to buy? And if so, what namebrand is best and are there different % strengths? Which one to get?

Is CYA really needed if the pool stays covered unless swam in? The pool is in direct sunlight but stays covered.
