    Thanks J. What I am feeling is raised. I took a drywall knife to it today and "knocked" down some of those rough spots. I had the water tested today, when do you recommend I go back for a 2nd test. In addition, would something be able to be done rather than emptying the pool and starting over...

    shore, where in SJ, Glassboro here. if i lived closer to the beach I prolly wouldnt have a pool. I am about an hr give or take from Sea Isle, Ocean City etc.

    thanks. I dont want to keep my levels sky high w/ the chlorine. Also, let me ask you this, 3" tabs in the skimmer or in a chlorine floater? I have a DE filter.

    My neighbors have a couple of oaks that drop baby acorns. They leave some nasty stains in my gunite pool. In the past, I would use shock in small handfulls and "bleach" out the stain. My pool co has gone to a different type of shock (TurboShock) and it isnt as granulated as the old stuff...

    I have been lurking and finally joined. I have grown up w/ pools and had one installed about 5 yrs ago, so I am not such a newbie. Its a VanBrill pool, 30k gal, gunite, nothing too frilly. The kids are really starting to get their use out of it...so it is starting to pay off!
