Add some treatments, low flow to follow

Thanks. I had a feeling I should probably hold off and either check here first, or go to my normal pool store when they were open. Shame they try and push all this stuff on you, and dont even tell you about the possible side effects (filter getting gummed up). The algae seems to have "greyed"...

Add some treatments, low flow to follow

So my wife and I noticed some spots of algae in the pool, over the course of a few weeks they seemed to multiply. This past sunday I wanted to treat it somehow, my normal pool store (local) was closed, so I decided to go to Leslies with a water sample. He did all of his tests and started...

    Aquarite Chlorine Generator Problem

Yea, I was mostly being facetious, I was assuming it was to try and protect these things from burning out. I am not sure about my iron. I borrowed it from someone as I have next to no soldering experience. One thing that makes me question even replacing the part is that it appears brand...

    Aquarite Chlorine Generator Problem

If you take look at that image above, click it to zoom in, you will notice the black coin looking component. Underneath it there is a metal looking plate that is on the board, that plate is also on the back of the board too, underneath the coin looking piece. I assume it is a sort of heat...

    Aquarite Chlorine Generator Problem

I got the parts in and took the board off. The piece on my board has a metal shield thing over the solder on the front and back. No matter how long I left the solder gun on that, it would not melt and allow me to take off the part. This was the only component on the PCB that had this metal...

    Aquarite Chlorine Generator Problem

I have. I disconnected it this past weekend and soaked it in a muriatic acid / water solution for about 8 minutes. Cleaned it out and it looked good. Would the flow sensor be causing a problem like this? or maybe just a bad cell? I would think even with a bad cell, I would at least have a...

    Aquarite Chlorine Generator Problem

I definitely slacked off on it the past month. The generator has been doing awesome, and my water has pretty much been maintenance free all summer, so I got complacent. I just moved into the house in May. I believe the pool was installed in 2011. So it is barely 2 years old.

    Aquarite Chlorine Generator Problem

My worry is I would create a new problem trying to solder onto an electronics board. I have absolutely 0 experience with a soldering iron. I will likely do that this weekend. I was all set to order a couple of those components, when I decided to ask around first.

    Aquarite Chlorine Generator Problem

Hello. I am having issues with my Aquarite system. I have read the thread here extensively, reporting the component on the PCB to replace. My system is experiencing the same problems. I noticed some film developing on the sides of the pool. Went and checked the box and it had no lights on...

    Pump on / off Question

Is there any reason to be running the pump on high, other than maybe to move water around more when trying to balance chemicals, etc? It is a 30K gallon SWG pool.

    Pump on / off Question

Awesome, thank you for the link. Was looking for something like that. Cant seem to set the timer to do an on / off schedule, just a low / high. Ill reinvestigate when I get home later.

    Pump on / off Question

My timer sets my pump to run at high speed from 1300 to 1900, and then turns it to low speed the remainder of the time. Is it necessary and/or detrimental to run the pump 24hrs a day? I am new to this system and pool ownership, and have been told the pump we have is a very low energy pump. It...

    Flying ants?

Yep, we get the ants as well. I just make sure to net them out and clean the skimmer more frequently. Have not been a problem yet.

    Pump Filling with Air

It looks like this may have been just a goof on my part and it fixed itself while I was at work yesterday. When I got home all was well. I noticed wet cement around the small hole next to my skimmer. I vaguely remember the previous owner telling me about that hole and how if you want to clear...
