What causes pH rise in pools with SWGs?

Re: Looking for suggested for salt Systems You should contact the engineer at all the major companies in the industry perhaps even attend multiple seminars and training and tell the engineers and the instructors SCG's don't raise pH. Almost as ridiculous as chlorine use is acidic...

What causes pH rise in pools with SWGs?

Re: Looking for suggested for salt Systems The pH of chlorine produced by a cell is 7.6 - 7.8 . Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) which is also produced as a by-product pushes the pH up. Nothing is going to stop the production of NaOH. Salt + Water + Electricity produces Sodium Hydroxide +...

What causes pH rise in pools with SWGs?

Re: Looking for suggested for salt Systems NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide) is the byproduct of generating chlorine from NaCl. It has a high pH.

Looking for suggested for salt Systems

3 choices, IMO. Hayward Aqua Rite Pro or Pentair iChlor or Pentair Intellichlor. Reason being you can hook up an automated acid injection system to balance the pH with either of these units. Those being the Hayward pH Dispense or Pentair IntellipH. SWG's cause your pH to rise to 8.4

    Adding a Acid feeder

Only decent system, imo, is the Pentair IntelllipH but you need either the iChlor or Intellichlor SWG's to work with it. Hayward released one this year but it only works with the new Aqua Rite Pro system. You can use either of these systems along with your Aqualink but they will not be...

Need advice to get pH down

momof3boys, according to your manual you should not use bromine since you have an Eco-Pure filter. I service a spa similar to yours (mineral cartridge and ozone gen, different mfgr and about 1/3 capacity). It took awhile but I found the trick is to shock weekly with about an ounce of Dichlor...

SimplePool App for Android. A Review.

Thanks for the info about the developer. Yes I am somewhat frustrated and disappointed. I purchased another app today for after reading the reviews and then I found out it was not what I needed. Perhaps people here can recommend an app that is similar that suits their needs ? Airing out my...

SimplePool App for Android. A Review.

The strange thing is that all my apps are backed up in Google except that one all of a sudden. I broke the screens on 3 phones last summer and reloaded the app everytime no prob. What gives ? The pool math calculator works great but is not as user friendly on a smart phone as Simple Pool Pro...

SimplePool App for Android. A Review.

Wow this is really bumming me out. I had it on my last droid phone. I thought Google backed up all your apps. Can't find it at all. My tablet that has it is 1/2 way around the world right now in Indonesia. Why would they discontinue this app and make it unavailable?

    Is this normal ?

UPDATE The gray Jandy valve was positioned with the cover reverse. In other words, the input was on the pump side not the suction side. I removed the 8 screws and reversed the cap position 180°. When correctly installed, the valve in the "open" position blocks the grease port and any...

    Is this normal ?

Hey thanks for all the replies guys. The inlet to the pump is approximately 18" above the pool level. I was there earlier and checking the system. I tightened the threaded intake coupler and that didn't have any effect. One thing, actually2 things I noticed are the Jandy valve on the inlet...

    Is this normal ?

Yes, I lubed the gasket and the o-rings on the unions. Only thing I can think of is maybe I need to tighten up the threaded adaptor going into the pump. I noticed a bit of leaking on the discharge side and I loosened the union and tightened up the threaded pvc adaptor 1/2 turn. That corrected...

    Is this normal ?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll check the input connection to the pump to make sure it's tight. This is where I suspect there may be a suction leak. When the DE filter drains down I don't notice any water spilling out anywhere. It seems to drain out into the plumbing system (i.i; back into...
