Nope just did a refill to fix CYA. I am going to use the pool for this long weekend. Pretty sure I should slam the pool after filling but was worried about the boys in the pool if it is at shock level.

just put a new valve in. I would put the new one in higher. A coupling glued properly usually will not fail. This will give you room to fix the valve if it fails again.

Nope I saw it. I don't like them when kept like bushes. You can trim all the green back to the top and they are like small palm trees. No green would be in the pool then.

No I am sticking to bleach. But reading the link you suggested I read it again. With my high TA it suggest aeration is the best method to raise PH.
