Hayward Variable Speed Pump Drive Error Pump Has Stalled

Hi People. First post.. but I'm having the same problem with my Hayward EcoPump model SP3400VSP. It's a litte less than 3 years old. The motor control panel says: Drive error, Pump has stalled. I've tried to reset everything, change speeds, turn off power, turn motor with allen wrench...

    Liquidator Check Valves...what's the point?

Hi People. I don't mean to hijack this thread, but the last post seems to deal with my exact Liquidator question. I plan to order an LQ. It will be located about 8 feet below pool water level. With that much head above the pump, I'm concerned that there will not be any "suction" on the...

Chemistry out of control. Must drain and refill

Small error. The ph of the new water is 7.4, not 40. F.

Chemistry out of control. Must drain and refill

Hi Casey. I should have an update by the end of this weekend. Too many kids came over yesterday and wanted to swim... and the pool actually looked pretty good. The water quality looks better the cover left open 24/7. I also retested CyN and the levels were not 200. The tests consistently...

Chemistry out of control. Must drain and refill

Thanks Dave. That's seems like a safer alternative than draining the whole pool and having it bone dry. My water is free except for the cost of electricity to pump it about 100 vertical feet, a small price to pay compared to city water. I'll post the results of the process. F.

Chemistry out of control. Must drain and refill

It looks like my pool will have to be drained, refilled and re balanced. This time I want to do it myself and use the BBB method! Heres the situation: 1. FC over 5.. maybe 10 2. CC off the scale as well 3. PH 7.4 to 7.5. I tested 3 times 4. total alc 150 5. calcium 290 to...

Cyanuric Acid blues - draining pool

I've been reading this thread as well as others regarding the cyanuric acid curse. My pool has been in service for less than 1 year and the CYA level is already over 100. Not that many pucks have been used.. and the pool is big. I think the pool service company anticipated rain dilution...

    Nature2 Mineral Sanitizer

Regarding the earlier question about a supplier for Cal Hypo pucks... without the stabilizer. I found a company, WMS Aquatics, that does sell compressed Calcium Hypo pucks. No price mentioned. No specifics about erosion rate, or compatability with something like a Nature 2.

    Nature2 Mineral Sanitizer

Thanks Dave. Still new to the etiquette of these sites. So far it' been a real learning experience. I'll start a new thread soon. I'm planning some changes to my pool set up with an automatic chlorine feeder and some repurposed glazed water heating panels... to get benefit in cold clear...

    Nature2 Mineral Sanitizer

I'm in the process of converting my systems from a Nature 2 puck feeder to the BBB method, with an automatic liquid chlorine feeder. But, does anyone make 3 inch tabs of compressed Calcium Hypochlorite that could be used in the Nature 2? I realize that Cal Hypo does not add stabilizer to the...

    Blackbearmine New Pool

Thanks. I used the Pool Calculator and 1 6 oz puck will raise the CYA by .6 That does not seem like a sustainable situation! I'd much rather add liquid chlorine, even if the costs are higher, to preserve the water quality. The mineral part of the Nature 2 is in use, but the cartridge...

    Blackbearmine New Pool

Thanks for the continuing advice. since shocking and increasing the chlorine tablet feeder rate, the water is crystal clear. As far as i can tell the chlorine is in the 4 to 5 range. There was a think layer of soft brown crud on the pool bottom, which is was probably dead algae as one of the...

    Blackbearmine New Pool

Thanks for the quick and helpful responses! I will get all the Pool Chemistry stuff learned and double the duration of filtration. It is only running from 5:00 AM till 12:00 PM at 1750 RPM. It's hard to figure the exact flow rate, but since the pump has flooded suction... the equipment is...
