    Belldiver's Pool Build

Wow, I'm surprised somebody found this old thread! Thanks BTW, pool is still doing great, and so far the Diamond Brite is doing just fine, about 4 years in now. Jim

    AutoPilot SC-60 cell replacement

I gave that a try this morning and let it set for about 10 minutes. Still getting the same low readings. I did also bump up to power level II to see what changed. 20 volts and ~6.5 amps @ 75% purifier level. As I stated before, when the unit is telling me it sees 17 Volts, I can test the...

    AutoPilot SC-60 cell replacement

More Info... With the unit running, I pull the plug from the Super Cell and it is reading 28 volts, right to the end of the cord. I don't have any way of measuring amps right now. The Test Mode is telling me 17V to 19V.

    AutoPilot SC-60 cell replacement

I spoke with a tech at AquaCal today. He mentioned replacing the cord at the same time as the generator cell as a standard practice and see if that solves the low voltage issue. I pulled and tested the old cord though, and it tested out just fine all the way to the circuit board inside the...

    Anyone have Intellibrite?

Andiejj, For what it's worth, I've had bad luck with my Colorlogics too. I have two of them in my 4 year old pool and have had three units go bad, with really quite minimal useage. The housings keep flooding. Only the first was under warranty. The others were on me. @ $400+ each, I think...

    AutoPilot SC-60 cell replacement

OK, I replaced the SC-60 cell with a brand new OEM but am still getting a *Check System light - Warning/Clean Cell. Not sure why. This is a brand new cell. Any idea what would be causing this? I was getting the same warning with the old cell too. Not sure it was even making chlorine...

    Intelliflo VF is brain dead

I'm back up and running. Found a VF drive on eBay for $525. The field repair didn't work. It kept tripping the breaker even though the visible damage was repaired. Damage must have been down in the inverter. It actually popped the top off the drive unit once. Kinda strange. No moving...

    Intelliflo VF is brain dead

I didn't get that quoted from Pentair, but a distributor. Mentioned that he couldn't get them individually anymore, but there were still some out there in inventory. I found a few on eBay, but still makes me leary. Excellent motor and pump, but if the electronics can't survive, then it's a...

    Intelliflo VF is brain dead

Well, the "field repair" didn't take. There must be something else wrong down in the phase inverter. It keeps tripping the breaker. I did find a Drive Unit on eBay for $525, NIB. Hope this one lasts longer... Thanks for the input everyone! Jim

    Intelliflo VF is brain dead

I'm not exactly sure how it determines the flow rate. I'd guess something to do with motor resistance as the pressure increases against your filter. It knows to idle up to compensate.

    Intelliflo VF is brain dead

That's what got me. I pulled the brain apart last night and it had some condensation in it. I'm going to attempt a "field repair" today and see how it goes. Jim

    Intelliflo VF is brain dead

Checked the resistance. There's right at 1.0 ohm resistance between any/all of the legs. Motor seems OK. I did pull the "brain" apart last night. Found a little moisture/condensation inside the unit and one burnt spot on the board. Doesn't look too bad, going to solder it today and see...

    Intelliflo VF is brain dead

The VF is what I had before (and still have the corpse). Will a VS head work on the VF body? I'm guessing it's the same motor and pump but don't know for sure. The VF keeps the turnover (flow) rate of your water constant, as other conditions change, like filter pressure. The VS just keeps...

    Intelliflo VF is brain dead

Well, if that is the case, basically I have a perfectly good motor and pump, and Pentair won't sell me a drive unit to control it. 92% efficiency isn't worth squat if a $1200 pump only lasts four years and is non-serviceable. Might have to reconsider this purchase. Cheap pump that burns...
