Pentair VS Pump - Control Panel Issues

I don't know how he could tell, but the pool guy said that the issues were caused by water physically damaging the electronics, not from an electrical surge. I will definitely look into these whole house surge protectors though. It seems like a good idea regardless. Thanks everyone.

Pentair VS Pump - Control Panel Issues

Thanks for the response. I found a PVC cover on amazon that I may try, or I could craft something myself as you mentioned.

Pentair VS Pump - Control Panel Issues

We built our pool a little over a year ago, and we have had to replace the electronic control panel on the top of our Pentair pump twice so far due to water damage. It has been covered by warranty, but I'd prefer not to go through this every six months. The first time, the panel went out...

Small pool and hot tub in SE Louisiana

Can you share what plants you used for your landscaping? We have a similarly narrow gap behind our pool and were looking to plant something tall and thin like that. The pool looks great btw!

Spa or no spa? If yes, raised or flush?

Our pool is similar in size to yours, and we went through the same debate. My vote was no spa but wanted a heater, my wife wanted the spa. I was trying to maximize the swimming area of the pool, but ultimately we decided to go with the raised spa. I think we made the right choice, as we used...

I haven't taken them seriously enough - mosquitos

Thanks for sharing. I have looked for standing water, but I guess I need to look harder. It's funny you mention the zapper; my kids got me that for Father's Day this year. Although it is incredibly satisfying when you kill something with it, I'd prefer not to need it by my side at all times.

I haven't taken them seriously enough - mosquitos

I just ordered the Dr. T's granules for our yard. For the past few weeks, we've even had issues with mosquitoes inside the house. In 15 years of home ownership, I can't recall ever having an issue with mosquitoes in the house (always been an issue in our yard). We've killed a bunch of them...

    Music outside

I have a pair of these Definitive Technology speakers attached to my pergola: Amazon.com: Definitive Technology AW 6500 Outdoor Speaker (Single, Black): Electronics They are wired to Zone 2 on my receiver (with Zone 3 powering speakers in my garage). I can control everything from my...

Looking for a cost effective music system for covered patio.

My upstairs receiver has three powered zones, so I simply ran wires from Zone 2 to my Def Tech outdoor speakers (around $500 for the speakers I believe). I have Zone three going to garage speakers, so I'm pretty well covered if I'm working on projects or just lounging around. I can control...

So why are you building a pool NOW??

Whether or not you will get a lot of use out of your pool long-term I think depends on your pre-pool lifestyle. For us, we already spent more time outside than any of our friends or neighbors and had done a lot of work to make it a more enjoyable space (pergola, sliding electric gate to open up...

    Go Away Rain!

This is our first full swimming season, so it's disappointing we haven't gotten to use it too often with all the rain. However, considering our source lake is full for the first time in years, I think it's a worthy sacrifice. :)

Pebble finish only on infinity edge?

One of the PBs I talked to said you could do this for the larger pebbles (PebbleTec), but not the finer ones (Pebblesheen).

    New Fr. Gray install, problem?

I think there are some positives to this plaster job. You won't notice dirt buildup nearly as much, and you won't have to obsess over imperfections (since it's all imperfect). :) As the owner of a pool with "perfect" white plaster, every tiny speck of dirt, stain, etc is very visible. I also...

Oklahoma Flagstone Coping concern and ?

We have flagstone that looks very similar to yours, and I may have picked a different stone considering my current (losing) battle with stone flakes in my pool. The builder told me some of the stones would flake, but it's worse than I expected. The good news in our case is that the non-flaky...

    New build, north DFW again!

We recently replaced our cushions with this exact same color (aqua), and I will tell you that it is very easy to stain compared to the previous dark red cushions we had. I need to see if there's something I can treat them with to repel future stains. I think it took about five minutes for the...
