There is no air in the pump once running. When starting pump (after sitting for a while) the pump basket is empty and has no water in it. Upon turning the pump on, all air in the system is purged through the returns, and there are no bubbles after approximately 1 minute.

I believe we have a leak in our inground pool. We are losing about a half inch to an inch every 8 to 12 hours. This is with the pump off. We have an automatic pool cover that has been on almost constantly and it hasn't been that hot so evaporation shouldn't really be an issue, correct? My...

We always have a lot of bubbling as soon as I turn on the pump (you can hear it as soon as it is turned on) but just for a minute or so. Is that how yours was? I'll have to check and see if there are bubbles in the filter pump basket.
