New liner - new fill - where to start?

Update on this.. I purchased the TF-100 kit (nicely packaged and great instructions BTW).. Since this was a new fill I already knew that CYA and CL would both be zero (and they are). I added 25 pounds of Calcium Increaser and 5 lbs. of Alk increaser about a week ago. (We will NOT be using the...

    Timing of new vinyl liner

We just had a new liner installed a week ago. The pool drained itself over the fall and winter last year due to leaks that had developed in the 10 year old liner. We had a tad bit of frost damage to the vermiculite bottom, but the installers cleaned that up with no problem when they put the new...

New liner - new fill - where to start?

OK - you got me reconsidering that then. We have seen the green hair and the metal coming out on the steps in previous years - so that may well be something I reconsider. I'll be reading up on the links you provided. The test kit I'm using right now is the Carefree Clearwater one that tests Ion...

Preemptive pump replacement for energy savings...

I'm sure I'll have more questions over the years. Glad to be here. I'm guessing we will need a new pool liner in a couple years since the one in there is showing signs of deterioration. Also would love to do something like concrete stamping around the pool at some point. Always more projects...

Preemptive pump replacement for energy savings...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Sounds like a two-speed motor just bolted on the end of the current assembly is the way to go. Any recommendations on a a manufacturer as far as reliability and quality? Regards, BeachAV8R

I use plain ole' Clorox bleach. The test kit I use from Carefree Clearwater: I've also put up a sign by the pool: Ebola carriers must shower before entering pool! Regards, BeachAV8R

Preemptive pump replacement for energy savings...

Hello - long time lurker, first time poster. I've enjoyed reading all the great threads here - I can't even begin to describe my aggravation with my local pool supply store when they sell me chemicals that don't do what they say they will do. <g> So we bought our house a few years ago - our...
