Thru-Wall Skimmer Basket on Intex Easy Set Pool

I did mine back in 2012 and the pool was in use until 2018, didn't use it last year as moving house but will be setting it up again in the next couple of weeks, as you can see in this pic you dont have to lose water level by having a through wall...

Breaking down and storing a Rectangular Intex pool

I think i struggled to get them out after the first season and then from the second year onward I give them a coat of silicon spray as they are slid in, never had a problem since.

How do you dry out inside of intex pool when taking it down

Puddle pump to drain it down then wet/dry vac, leave it for a couple of hours and the inside is all dry. I fold the insides in and roll it up and store it in the loft - its done me six seasons now.

    Skimmer troubles on ultra-frame

1hp pumps are thirsty beasts, 1 skimmer cannot feed it enough water even if it was level, you will definitely need that second feed. I run a 1hp as well and its exactly the same on my setup.

Glad you got something sorted :) If it helps I can look into how much it would cost to send some over?

    Laceygirls New Pool - Intex 18 x 9 x 52....

Keep the intex part that fits to the liner then a standard 2" threaded elbow screws directly on where the silly plunger used to go. Might be cheaper than getting new liner.

    Laceygirls New Pool - Intex 18 x 9 x 52....

Sorry to hear about the cupboard :( Even though there maybe not much time left this summer the more you get done and tested will save you on set up time next year, just a thought. Are you keeping the intex valves so you can shut off the water for cleaning the filter?

First Ever Pool - Above ground bestway 4.2m slice of heaven

I cant quite picture what you mean but I've found the unions very useful for easy disconnection for maintenance/cleaning and and packing away. Softening the flex pipe onto fittings in warmer weather is one thing but trying to remove them again when the weather turns cold in the autumn is...

First Ever Pool - Above ground bestway 4.2m slice of heaven

Hi Laceygirl, glad to see you got your filter and getting ready to plumb it all in, you really will notice the difference once its up and running. Hope you don't mind me saying though that something doesn't look right about the connection with the flex pipe to the union. Unless its done...

First Ever Pool - Above ground bestway 4.2m slice of heaven

Yes as long as the pumped flow does not exceed the filter's maximum you will be fine. The downside to having an oversized pump/filter package is higher running costs. I have a 1hp pump and a 24" lacron sand filter, works a treat:D

I would definitely agree ball valves on each is useful, you'l want to shut one or all off at some point or they can be used to balance the flow between the second suction and skimmer. I would be careful using the original skimmer with a stronger pump, I tried it temporarily and found the clear...
