    Pool Light Identification

I finally got it off using some needle nose pliers, I actually have an nextstep mb-100. It looks like this is a discontinued product but based on a manual I found online it fits into a 1.5 inch fitting. The Florida sunseeker light should work, so I've ordered it and will install it when I...

    Acid pump recommendations?

I am using the Econ T but bypassing the built-in timer (I have the pump set to on). But I have a home assistant based home automation solution that I use to power the acid pump on and off. This allows me to monitor and adjust the acid dispensing from my phone/laptop/app. I have also built in...

    Pool Light Identification

Hi there I have a pool light that seems to have recently failed, but I am unable to figure out how to remove it to identify it. Any tips or tricks to either identify (so I can order a replacement) or to remove it (so I can read the nameplate)? The pool light is a white (led I am pretty sure)...

pH sensors that don't have to be calibrated

Not sure if I missed it, but are you planning to install it in the main line or a bypass line where you can control the flow rate? I've read that a high flow rate causes the pH sensor to read inaccurately. For e.g. look at this very recent thread here...

    My NEW Pool Automation Controller

I am still doing my final testing on the bench, but I have my updated controller with additional features and safety checks ready to go (for e.g. don't turn on acid and chlorine at the same time.. don't turn on either acid or chlorine if there is no flow... turn off pool pump if its on and there...

    My NEW Pool Automation Controller

I actually turn off both relays (1 feeding power to my 24VAC transformer and 1 feeding 24VAC to my actuator) once its done switching to it. I don't see any reason to keep either of those items energized 24/7. I have not pulled out my multi meter to see what the actual current draw on idle is...

    My NEW Pool Automation Controller

I just thought of a flaw in my plan - the 5V to the flow switch is only sent when the SWG is on.. So for the times I have SWG off, there will be no voltage being sent to the flow switch, so I won't be able to read the flow status. I need to think of a way to read the flow switch when the SWG is...

    My NEW Pool Automation Controller

100% Agree - I realized I don't have enough safety checks in my system either - have you thought about using a flow switch instead of just querying the pump? One of the things I want to do is use a flow switch so I can be smarter about running my pool pump dry (if it didn't prime), turning on...

    My NEW Pool Automation Controller

I can confirm that due to a programming error I had power going to both sides of my intermatic actuator for a while and have not noticed any ill effects.

Help choosing chlorination method for pool inherited from previous owner

I diluted the pool water 1:1 and am still reading over 100 - I will try dilute further in additional tests this weekend to see what the actual number is. But I guess its safe to say that its over 200. My FC is still 12 . I am slowly using acid to lower PH and aerating to get the TA back down...
