So the Baquacil part of the forum has been eliminated?

Thanks so much. Sorry again for getting testy. Been a tough Christmas season this year with my wife having been taken to the hospital by ambulance on the 23rd.

So the Baquacil part of the forum has been eliminated?

Sorry for over-reacting. It's just that - as you and others know - I've surely taken enough ribbing over the years and alot of it undoubtedly justifiable since I've threatened to convert and never did. Surely frustrating for everyone who has been so helpful and encouraging. Had I not found a...

So the Baquacil part of the forum has been eliminated?

No need to get insulting. I no longer have any interest whatsoever in converting back to chlorine since all the problems I've been reporting over the years no longer exist. Baqua is working fine for me. I'm simply asking on behalf of others who might be considering conversion, etc. Cut me some...

So the Baquacil part of the forum has been eliminated?

I don't see it. Unfortunate cause there are still people here who either ask questions about converting to chlorine or else aren't certain and want to know more, etc.

Water chemistry before closing a mesh-covered fiberglass pool to compensate for rainfall & draining

Great advice! I also have a mesh cover and over the winter frequently check the pH and adjust as needed. I just pull the cover part way off, pre-dissolve the sodium bicarbonate or sodium bisulfate, then I use my kayak paddle to agitate the water best I can. Works pretty well.

Anyone having trouble with newer expansion plugs leaking after blowing out lines?

that's why I have a bunch of them saved. Part of the issue is the sharp angle the return plugs go in on. Pretty much a 45 degree angle coming in the pool so have to get them in just the right way. Another thing is when the plaster was redone it's built up pretty heavy right around the returns so...

Anyone having trouble with newer expansion plugs leaking after blowing out lines?

2nd year in a row that I've had to resort to my collection of saved older plugs. My two return lines use a #6 plug. It seems that the rubber on these newer ones is stiffer and less flexible than older ones. Thinking I might buy them from a different website next year. Until the past several...

    Sad Day - Closed Pool!

I hear you. Fall trip here also. Next year NO trips planned so I'm gonna keep the pool open till I'm good and ready to close it rather than "having" to close it by a certain date. Somehow makes it harder.

    Closing pool

That'd be nice and makes sense, but I just can't manage it with fall travel - have to close before I leave. By the time I get around to opening in spring, water is already mid-70s.

    Would like to convert

M...thanks for checking this out. I had been wondering what this product is.

    Would like to convert

Your sanitizer level is fine. I have discovered - as part of fighting these biofilms, etc. - that it's important to keep the sanitizer level up. It's so easy to get complacent about it cause it doesn't need to be tested all that often. This is good stuff and makes the water even feel better...

    Would like to convert

If you're looking to close fairly soon, no need to add any CDX, which only allegedly helps to preserve oxidizer level (I question how much it truly does). Line Clean would be good if you're going to run the filter at least a few more days, but if not this could wait till next year also (unless...

Interesting for sure....never heard of this brand.

    Would like to convert

Biguanide is extremely stable in the water. Being a baqua user, I never checked the B level until last winter and was astounded to find there was still 30 ppm (this was sometime in late March) after last adding some the previous September. Not the best way to do any sort of pool testing. I...
