Sooo tired of going to pool store!

The cheapest I have found was 12% "Liquid Shock" at the pool store for 3.99 but I wait for their sale. Also if you have a farm store such as Rural King near you they will have it.

    The Big Drain..... and Refill

It's looking great!! the wife complained a little about the smell while the chlorine was at 24 ppm but I told her it would go away. My iphone is working like new! I put it in a ziplock bag of rice for a week and had to charge it up again but it's working.

    The Big Drain..... and Refill

Thought you guys might want to see how much water it takes to take a 33,000 gal pool from around 300ppm CYA to 60ppm. See below. fyi my normal monthly usage is 4-5k gallons and the bill is usually about 43 dollars.

    Help with hazy water

Might want to read up on what pH is about. All water will measure some pH there is no such thing as no pH. Now while the pH of your well water might not be exactly desirable for what you want in your pool just having the pH off in itself won't necessarily make your water hazy as there is a...

    The Big Drain..... and Refill

Austin. Not sure why I didn't think to check for dates but I will tonight. Last night I only lost 1.5 ppm FC Is this close enough to end my SLAM?

    The Big Drain..... and Refill

After 10 gallons of "10%" my FC was 18.5 just now added another 2 gallons having to use double the liquid kinda defeats the savings of buying the cheapest stuff in town Not a great feeling having to guess what the outcome will be when I add more. Sparkle pools in town is having their sale this...

    The Big Drain..... and Refill

I can see the Phillips head screws on the main drain cover, and the spider next to it. Through 8 feet of water. It really is pretty clear. Thanks for the encouragement Charlie.

    The Big Drain..... and Refill

Well... My pool claimed its first iPhone. I know better than to keep it in my pocket. Sheesh. FC is sitting down around 3ppm (OTO and fas dpd) after 6 gallons of 10% with almost 2 hours to circulate. I added 2 more gallons which is close enough to the 7.5 that pool math called for to...

    The Big Drain..... and Refill

Hard to get a decent picture with the sun at it's late angle but the water looks great. I just now now completed the test again after an hour of circulation and got 8 drops before it turned clear (so 4ppm) then only 1 drop to turn it back to clear for CC test. Maybe I need to give it more...

    The Big Drain..... and Refill

Having some trouble with the FAS DPD test. I added 6 gallons of 10% to my pool which is enough to bring it to 18-19 ppm chlorine then waited 30 minutes for water to circulate the OTO test indicates over 5ppm (expected) While completing FAS DPD I added one heaping scoop of powder to 10ml water...

    The Big Drain..... and Refill

Finally some decent test results!! Thanks folks for the encouragement. CYA: 60 CH: 260 TA: 230 pH: 7.2 I am currently adding chlorine shooting for a SLAM level of 24 ppm. Water looks ok- not really sparkling in the deep end.
